Privacy Policy
Last updated: July 15, 2026
At mapaPH, we believe in building tools that respect user privacy. This policy explains what information is processed when you visit our central hub (mapaph.com) and how we handle data across our open-source tools.
1. Information we collect and process
Because this hub website is fully static, we do not require account registration, email sign-ups, or form submissions. We process only the following basic technical data:
- Server Logs: Our hosting provider, Vercel, automatically collects standard logging parameters when you make requests to our site. This includes anonymized IP addresses, request timestamps, browser types, and referral pages to monitor network stability and security.
- Vercel Web Analytics: We use Vercel Web Analytics to track general traffic trends (such as page views and browser stats). This tool is completely cookie-free and does not collect or store any personally identifiable information.
- Google Search Console: We use Google Search Console to monitor search ranking metrics and index quality. This tool does not track individual user identity on our website.
- Correspondence: If you contact us directly via email (vrsmagwili@gmail.com) or by opening a public issue on GitHub, we process your contact information solely to reply to your questions.
2. Cookies and tracking
The main mapaPH hub does not set or store tracking cookies. However, we plan to apply and implement Google AdSense or another ad network in the future. Once active, these ad networks may use cookies and web beacons to serve personalized or non-personalized advertisements based on your visits to this and other websites. We will update this policy to specify ad cookie choices once those networks are active.
3. Third-party services
We rely on Vercel to host this hub site. Vercel processes request data to deliver site assets. You can review the Vercel Privacy Policy on their official website to understand how they secure their cloud infrastructure.
4. Your rights under the Philippine Data Privacy Act
Because we are focused on the Philippines, we align our privacy guidelines with the Philippine Data Privacy Act of 2012 (Republic Act No. 10173). You have the right to access, update, correct, or request the deletion of any personal email correspondence or GitHub inquiries you have submitted to us. Since we do not maintain a user database or store profiles, we do not have personal data files to export or modify.
5. Data retention and security
Anonymized server log entries are automatically deleted or rotated by Vercel according to their standard network retention policies (typically under 90 days). Email correspondence is kept only as long as necessary to address your feedback.
6. Children's privacy
Our tools are not directed at minors, and we do not knowingly collect or request personal details from children under the age of 13.
7. Individual subdomains and crowdsourced tools
This policy applies only to mapaph.com. Individual mapping tools linked from this directory run on their own subdomains (such as lens.mapaph.com or pet-friendly.mapaph.com). Some of these tools may store custom settings locally in your browser or accept crowdsourced public contributions. Each subdomain is governed by its own minimal data policy which you can read on the respective subdomain site.
8. Changes to this policy
We may update this policy occasionally to reflect changes in our tools or hosting setup. All revisions will be posted on this page with an updated date listed at the top.
9. Contact information
If you have questions about this policy, you can contact us at vrsmagwili@gmail.com or file an issue in our public GitHub repository.
