1. Acceptance of Terms
By accessing and browsing the mapaPH hub (www.mapaph.com), using any of our interactive mapping calculators, or downloading GeoJSON boundary exports, you agree to comply with and be bound by these Terms of Use. If you do not agree to these terms, please discontinue use of the site.
2. Description of the Service
mapaPH is an independent, open-source civic cartography hub and technical documentation portal that builds browser-native utilities around maps and spatial datasets of the Philippines. Our suite includes administrative code decoders (PSGC and PHLPost ZIP directories), geodetic coordinate converters (PRS92 and WGS84), public transit and expressway tariff estimators, highway milestone locators, and the Lens choropleth visualizer.
3. Non-Government Independence Disclaimer
mapaPH is an independent civic technology project developed and maintained by private open-source contributors. We are not affiliated with, endorsed by, sponsored by, or acting on behalf of any government agency, municipal authority, or public corporation of the Republic of the Philippines, including the Philippine Statistics Authority (PSA), National Mapping and Resource Information Authority (NAMRIA), Land Transportation Franchising and Regulatory Board (LTFRB), Toll Regulatory Board (TRB), Department of Public Works and Highways (DPWH), Department of Transportation (DOTr), Philippine Postal Corporation (PHLPost), or Commission on Elections (COMELEC).
4. Intellectual Property, MIT License, and Public Domain Data
Resources hosted on mapaPH fall into three distinct legal categories:

5. Geodetic & Cadastral Surveying Disclaimer (RA 8560)
Under Republic Act No. 8560 (The Philippine Geodetic Engineering Act of 1998) and DENR Administrative Order No. 2007-29, only a duly registered and licensed Geodetic Engineer is legally authorized to execute relocation surveys, subdivision plans, and cadastral boundary verifications for land titling in the Philippines. The PRS92 to WGS84 coordinate transformations, Transverse Mercator calculations, and simplified GeoJSON municipal polygons provided on mapaPH are intended strictly for GIS visualization, academic research, and preliminary spatial planning. They must never be used to adjudicate property boundary disputes, establish legal lot monuments, or substitute for an official survey plan approved by the DENR Land Management Bureau (LMB) or Land Registration Authority (LRA).
6. Public Transit, Rail, and Expressway Tariff Disclaimer
Our Commute Fare Estimator, Metro Manila Rail Transit Guide, EDSA Carousel Calculator, and Expressway Toll Calculator compute fares based on published LTFRB Board Resolutions, DOTr Department Orders, LRTA tariff tables, and TRB toll matrices. However, fuel subsidy adjustments, provisional tariff petitions, toll plaza reclassifications, and route diversions can occur between dataset updates. In all commercial transit and tollway transactions, the official laminated LTFRB Fare Matrix (Talaan ng Pamasahe) displayed inside the vehicle or the electronic toll deduction recorded at the concessionaire's barrier gantry (Autosweep / Easytrip) governs the legally binding fare.
7. Warranty Disclaimer and Limitation of Liability
All tools, services, maps, and geographic datasets on mapaPH are provided strictly on an "as-is" and "as-available" basis, without warranties of any kind, either express or implied, including but not limited to warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, or non-infringement. To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law, the project maintainers and contributors shall not be liable for any direct, indirect, incidental, special, or consequential damages resulting from the use of or inability to use our tools, including transit delays, toll balance penalties, routing discrepancies, or spatial projection errors.
8. User Conduct and Prohibited Uses
You agree to use our tools only for lawful civic, educational, personal, or professional purposes. You are prohibited from:
- Launching automated denial-of-service attacks or abusive scraping traffic that degrades CDN availability for other users (if you need raw JSON datasets, please download them directly from our public GitHub repository instead of scraping HTML pages).
- Misrepresenting mapaPH visualizations or exports as official government-issued certificates or certified cadastral plans.
- Using our tools for real-time safety-critical navigation, aviation, maritime piloting, or emergency dispatch where approximation tolerances could lead to physical harm.
9. Governing Law, Jurisdiction, and Contact
These Terms of Use are governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of the Republic of the Philippines. Any legal disputes arising out of these terms shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the appropriate courts of the Philippines.
